There was doge being given out in large quantities at a time. Even as high as one million doges, just for asking. Doge was thriving, but had no real value yet. People were enjoying the dogecoins. One dogecoin receiver even said "This is the best day of my life." after receiving ten thousand doge. On the fourth and fifth days of The Doge Days of Winter, something interesting happened. One million doges were being sold for up to 50 dollars, and/or .05btc. Many trades took place. It looked like there were more sellers than buyers at this point, but that was about to change. On the sixth day, the prices jumped. Demand skyrocketed. One million doges was now selling for 280 dollars. Everyone wanted to buy doges. By now difficulty in mining was over 20, over 2 times more than the day before. On the tenth day dogecoin got on three major exchanges, the most important one being cryptsy. Difficulty is now at ~120 and 1 million doges sells for $500-$750. Day eleven. The day I quit selling dogecoins. Doge difficulty is over 240. The price for one megadoge is roughly $1200. I would say doge went to the moon, but it may end up going even higher. 9.5% of all dogecoins have been mined so far(9.5 billion doges).
